I keep walking.Through my aspiration to undertake the pilgrimage of the 88 sacred sites of Shikoku,
I have come to understand this:
the completion of the pilgrimage is not an end, but a beginning.
The "Promised Land" I continue to seek is not on any map.
It is not a place someone can point out to me.
It is the very answer to life that my own active steps will reveal.
That place is close to the sea, quiet, and calming to the heart.
It is an open, peaceful land where my beloved family can always live in safety and joy,
and where I can feel the timeless presence and wisdom of Kūkai.
I hereby resolve to recognize that future land as my own personal 89th sacred site, and declare my philosophy of life:
- Create! — I will continue to create the ideal path within my heart.
- Challenge! — I will continue to challenge myself, unafraid to walk forward.
- Act! — I will continue to receive the inner truth that appears beyond my actions.
And someday, when my steps finally lead me to that "Promised Land", I will engrave that place as my 89th sacred site.
With this firm declaration, my life's pilgrimage moves into a bright new chapter.
